The remontative variety of raspberry plant (Rubus idaeus L.) sometimes also called European Raspberry was planted in autumn 2011. The raspberry plant is one of the oldest fruit species. It has been cultivated for its tasty fruit since the 16th century. This thorny shrub grows on the edge of a forest on sunny hillsides. The fruits have a pleasant smell and have many culinary uses. Jams and traditional raspberry juice are made from fruits.

Raspberry leavesare also used, they have a high content of tannins and a decoction has a diuretic effect. Dried leaves are part of many dietary teas and beverages. Raspberry is an important plant for bees to gather nectar for honey.
