Here you can findlemon balm (Melissa officinalis L.), the herb with the unmistakable scent of lemon, rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis L.) and marigold (Calendula officinalis L.), best known for its healing effects. Among the grown herbs can be found chamomile (Matricaria recutita (L.) Rauschert), basil (Ocimum basilicum L.), which originated in India and is a traditional ingredient in the production of Italian pesto. Less well known is the herb wormwood (Artemisia dracunculoides L.), often called Russian tarragon. Compared to the commonly used French tarragon (Artemisia dracunculus L.) even small doses this variety is very bitter. A popular medicinal plant is sage (Salvia officinalis L.). In the Czech Republic it started to grow in the 9th century in monastery gardens. In traditional Czech cuisine sagewas used in a similar way to parsley.
